Traveler IQ Challenge
The basic idea of the game is to locate a city as quickly as possible. A few lessons I’ve learned in about 10 minutes of playing: My China geography is seriously lacking, I have no idea where Uruguay is (now I do) and African geography is not my specialty. Be careful, it can be quite addictive.

Hi, I'm
Damn, missed level 7 by 2000 pts. If only I hadnt been half the world away on Suriname. I never even heard of that place. And I had been doing so well.
But how come you didnt post your scores Noah?
its ok, its about knowing how to find out. least thats what some blogger keeps telling me.
did better the second time. Cruised through to Round 10, but got destroyed by islands off the coast of Africa and barely hit 50% of the score required to advance to 11.
This is easily the last thing i needed two days before my first law school exam.
Found this via Very Short List and it took up a pretty good portion of my day.
Made my way to Round 11… they start throwing in places like Vanuatu and the North Marianas. Pretty easy to be thousands of km off the mark.
OK, I’m really lousy at this … can’t seem to get past level 8 … and it’s still addictive! I don’t get it — is it just the speed? There’s no logical reason for this to be so engaging … there’s really not that much intellectual accomplishment in learning what continent Suriname is on (SA? I can’t remeber anymore:/ There’s one country it keeps asking for with 4 initials … I don’t even know what they stand for!!! Really, I want to know, why do I keep going back? Is it like Tetris or Simon? Will I eventually remember all these random places, become more accurate in my placement, and then know where every place in the world is? And this will be useful … when …?
And why aren’t they teaching kids geography this way?
