Avoidance
I’ve been noticing myself doing something really funny recently: When I start reading a ton about something on the web I end up avoiding it at all costs. I’m not quite sure why, but this week it’s been the credit crisis visualization and the new Skittles site.
No idea why that’s interesting, but thought I’d share.

Hi, I'm
With you there. I only just checked Skittles five minutes ago because I referred to it in an email and thought I’d better take a swifty. Other than that I know enough through digital osmosis. :)
you are not the only one. I noticed I did the same thing yesterday when people were linking to the daily show twitter rant
I’m with Charles, and you. Digital osmosis it is. And some weird desire to not follow the rest of the crowd. Be unique and all that.
How about that once an item is ‘mainstream’ it’s no longer of much interest to influencers? It’s an old school pattern, but may still apply.
I actually do disagree when it come to the credit crisis visualization. sure, when you see the same things everywhere your interest in it tends to decrease, but still when one thing is neatly done, it’s neatly done, you can’t take that away. And Jonathan Jarvis’s job is a good one. “Her morning elegance” was really uninteresting…and my greatest avoidance ever.
