After reading the New Yorker piece on parkour from last year I hopped over to YouTube and watched a few videos of David Belle (who invented parkour) that were worth sharing: a short "best of", his most famous fall (which is described in the article) and a BBC commercial he did.

i remember thinking when this article came out how curious it is that parkour (of which i am a fan, albeit not a practioner, except running for the 6 train from time to time) has been for the last 10+ constantly about to break out, but never quite doing so.

that said, district b13 is a lot of fun, and parkour has built up an interesting global community around itself that is rightly, considering its roots, always just underground.
