Singer/songwriter Jill Sobule has raised over $80,000 by asking for donations. She offered 12 different levels from "unpolished rock" ($10 donation) which included a free download of the album when it's released to "Weapons-Grade Plutonium Level" ($10,000) which entitles the donor to sing on the album. Cool stuff.
