Animals, Science and Human Behavior

It seems to be a good week for animals helping us understand the world. Not only has metacognition been found in rats but also, specialist ants were not found to be any more efficient than non-specialists. (Yay generalists!) Anyways, I'm always amazed by the amount we can learn from nature (if you haven't read Emergence, do so). I'm more and more convinced that the answers to most questions lie in basic human/animal tendencies and are just post-rationalized to be more complex (both by ourselves and outside observers).
